COSMOS

The COSMOS standard is a set of criteria that companies can use to guarantee to their consumers that their products are genuine organic or natural cosmetics, produced to the highest possible standards of sustainability practice.

The COSMOS Standard Signature is a consumer assurance for organic and natural cosmetics that can be trusted. To date, over 29,000 products in 71 countries carry our COSMOS ORGANIC or COSMOS NATURAL signature. Over 12,000 ingredients carry our COSMOS CERTIFIED signature. Over 7,000 raw materials carry our COSMOS APPROVED signature.

The COSMOS standard is the result of a cooperation of European standard organizations and certification bodies and is used worldwide. IONC GmbH (a COSMOS-approved certification body) is authorised to issue the signatures "COSMOS NATURAL" and "COSMOS ORGANIC" for end products, "COSMOS CERTIFIED" and "COSMOS APPROVED" for raw materials and, where still relevant, to verify the BDIH mark, the predecessor of the COSMOS standard. The authorization is based on the approval according to the COSMOS standard and the related continuous monitoring by the inspection body.

agroVet is authorized to perform audits on behalf of the IONC.
The audit result is transmitted to the IONC by Bio Garancia Kft.
Evaluations of raw materials, formulations or the various COSMOS signatures are the sole responsibility of the IONC.
As you are contracted with the IONC, the audit costs are also settled through the IONC.

If you wish to obtain COSMOS certification, you must contact and register directly with the IONC.
You are welcome to specify agroVet GmbH as the inspection body. After your registration with the IONC, Bio Garancia will be commissioned via agroVet to carry out the audit.
When registering, you are welcome to indicate agroVet GmbH as the inspection body. Once you have registered with the IONC, we (Bio Garancia) will then be commissioned (via agroVet) to carry out the audit.
